MetaMask: Ethereum Browser Extension
MetaMask, an extension for the Ethereum browser that allows users to view the Ethereum blockchain directly from their browser. The extension allows the user to perform Ethereum transactions from within the web browser.
How does it all work?
MetaMask’s extension adds Ethereum’s web3 API into any Javascript context. It means that when you view a webpage, the extension is able to see the blockchain information. These include the Ethereum addresses for every wallet, their associated balances, as well as the Ethereum address and balance at the contract address. The number of transactions completed is also included.
When a user registers, a wallet is automatically created in his MetaMask Client. From there, the user can move tokens among addresses, make withdrawals and transfers, and move money between wallets.
